AGRA
: A help desk that
Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University
said would be functional from September to deal students’ issues has still not been set up. Students continue to do rounds of the
university
for their degrees. The university, for its part, said that they were still working on setting up the help desk.
Sources say mark sheets, degree and migration certificates of more than 2 lakh students have been pending with the university for the last four sessions: 2012 to 2016. The university had also promised a mega fair in mid-August to address pending issues but it never took place.
University vice chancellor
Dr Arvind Kumar Dixit
had inspected the spot where the help desk was proposed and work on it was supposed to start from September 15. Yet, nothing came out of it even as one and a half months passed. Students can be found standing in long queues outside the office of the registrar to enquire about the help desk.
The university public relation officer
GS Sharma
said, “It was the verification of degree certificates that caused a delay in the plan to organise the proposed fair. We are going to do it with complete preparation. All pending certificates and concerning cases will be addressed fast-track.”
He added, “We are working to establish a help desk to ensure that students don’t have to make repeated rounds of the university offices. For this, we are making technological and infrastructural arrangements”.
