Mathura police

on Wednesday arrested Vivek Yadav, son of the main accused of Jawahar Bagh violence, Ram Vriksha Yadav, on charges of riot and murder. The violence on June 2 claimed 29 lives including that of SP city Mukul Dwivedi and SO (Farah) Santosh Yadav and left over 100 injured.

Talking to TOI, SP crime, Mathura, Rajesh Sonkar said that the accused was produced in court and remanded to judicial custody.

According to police, Vivek, who had been absconding since the day of the violence, was arrested after his brother, Raj Narain, revealed his whereabouts. He was arrested near Jai Guru Dev ashram in Mathura.
