Woman gang-raped on Karva Chauth night by three men in Etah, FIR lodged

: A 37-year-old woman in

Etah

was allegedly gang-raped on the night of Karva Chauth by three men.

Based on her written complaint to local police on Sunday evening, three men were booked, identified as Mukesh, Ankit and Shivkumar under IPC sections 376D (gang-rape) and 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement).

According to FIR lodged by the victim, on Saturday night after completing her Karva Chauth worship she went out to feed a cow. On her way, she was gagged from behind with a towel by three men and dragged behind a Banyan tree and raped. After sexual assault, the three left. She was threatened with dire consequences if she spoke about the act to anyone.”

SHO of Raja Ka Rampur, Gajendar Singh Bhatti, said, “We are investigating the matter and will soon arrest the three accused.”

Meanwhile, Pilua police of

Etah district

arrested a youth on Monday, who allegedly raped a minor on last Friday. According to police, the accused identified as Suraj Thakur was booked under IPC section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 376A (rape) and POCSO.
