Youth killed nine-year-old to steal and repay loan of Rs 10,000

AGRA: A 22-year-old youth was apprehended on Sunday late night by Itmad-ud-daula police for murdering a nine-year-old kid.

, was well known to victim’s family, as he along with his parents lived for nearly four years as tenant.

On November 17, Krish Gautam a grade three student was killed at his residence, while his mother and five-year-old sister had gone to local market for grocery.

According to police, “Son of a medical instrument mechanic, Ayush, had a loan of Rs 10,000 which he had to repay. On Friday evening, after victim’s mother Nitu and his sister left for market, Ayush entered into their home, where Krish was watching TV. He was carrying a saw blade along with him to cut the cupboard locker.”

“To execute theft, the accused asked Krish to fetch a glass of water for him, but when victim returned with water, he saw Ayush trying to steal valuables, panicked by Krish presence, the accused slit the throat of the boy and covered the body with blanket, before leaving the house,” said Hukum Singh, station officer of Itmad-ud-daula.

Police got clue of Ayush's involvement in murder after the family of the victim claimed of him meeting Krish on Friday evening near their home.

The accused was booked under

IPC

section 302 (murder). Police have recovered the blood stain clothes of Ayush and the weapon used in killing Krish.
