Police reports indicate the incident occurred at approximately 6am. The truck, experiencing mechanical issues, was parked on the roadway. The sleeping coach bus collided with the stationary truck.

Bhavnagar District Collector R K Mehta informed reporters, "Six people died in this accident and around 16 people are injured, out of that six are critical. The injured are being treated at the government facility in Talaja and Sir T hospital of Bhavnagar. The bus was going towards Rajula. A forensic team is also called to investigate the crime scene."

The collision occurred near Trapaj, with the bus travelling from Surat to Rajula in Amreli district. Notably, Amreli shares significant connections with Surat, as numerous Amreli residents work in Surat's diamond industry.
Witnesses report the impact was severe enough to cause extensive damage to the bus's front section.

The authorities are working to identify the deceased, though sources confirm that two women and three children are among those who lost their lives.
