A’bad-Rajkot road project to be completed by Dec

During question hour in the assembly on Monday, govt informed the House that the Ahmedabad-Rajkot Highway six-laning project will be completed by Dec this year. Rajkot MLA Darshita Shah asked when the project began, what its status is as of Dec 31, 2024, and when the work will be completed. In his reply, minister Jagdish Vishwakarma said that in the first phase covering 197 kilometres, six-laning is complete in 193 kilometres. The remaining work of the Rs 3,350 crore project will be complete by Dec this year, the minister added.Rs 550 crore sanctioned for Ahmedabad-Dholera ExpresswayThe state govt told the House that Rs 550 crore has been sanctioned for the Ahmedabad-Dholera expressway that will connect the new proposed international airport to Ahmedabad city. In response to a question by Dhandhuka MLA Kalubhai Dabhi, govt said that work on the project is ongoing and Rs 550.49 crore has been sanctioned for the project.17,695 illegal mining cases in 2 years: GovtThe House was told on Monday that 17,695 cases of illegal mining or irregularities in mining have been filed in the past two years, and fines of Rs 309.25 crore have been recovered. Minister Balvantsinh Rajput said in the assembly that department officials conduct regular checks and raids at various lease sites to check illegal mining activities.Dholera SIR to provide 8 lakh jobs: MinisterSpeaking in reply to a question in the assembly on Monday, Minister Jagdish Vishwakarma said that when the Dholera special economic region (SIR) becomes fully operational, it will provide 8 lakh employment opportunities. The minister said that the entire Dholera SIR will be spread over an area of 920 square kilometres, and in the first phase, development work is ongoing over an area of 153 square kilometres.
