in Motera, in his complaint said that the three men came to his shop on Thursday evening and threatened him with a knife, demanding payment of Rs 1.25 crore.
Devara said one Mahendra Patel, who runs a fast-food joint, had advised him to go to Shah for investment in the share market. He began investing in February and continued till October 2021. In all he gave Shah Rs 42 lakh.
Devara said that in October, he told Shah to close his account. Shah then told Devara that his positions had made huge losses and Devara owed him Rs 1.25 crore, apart from the Rs 42 lakh he had originally invested.
The complainant said that in November, Shah came to his shop demanding the Rs 1.25 crore. Shah got agitated, abused him and threatened him. He said Shah took out a cheque book from his drawer and forced him to sign 12 cheques of Rs 4 lakh each.
The complainant said that he later closed the bank account in question, after which Shah kept calling him, demanding payment.
Devara said after the accused came to his shop on Thursday evening, he told his family about these events and they decided to lodge a complaint for extortion and trespassing.
