CBSE portal glitch hits Ahmedabad students seeking Class 12 answer sheets
Ahmedabad: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) came under fire after major technical glitches disrupted its online portal launched for accessing scanned copies of Class 12 answer sheets, with thousands of students and parents nationwide reporting problems.
The board had earlier maintained that the portal was functioning efficiently, stating that within the first three hours of launch, 1.27 lakh applications were filed successfully for 3.87 lakh answer sheets. However, complaints from students across the country sharply contradicted this assertion.
Soon after the announcement by CBSE, social media platforms were inundated with complaints from students and parents highlighting several issues. A key concern was repeated payment failures, with many students claiming that although the application fee was debited from their bank accounts, the portal still displayed the payment status as “unsuccessful.” Students said this resulted in financial loss and considerable mental stress among applicants.
In response, CBSE issued a circular recently extending the deadline to apply for scanned copies from May 22 to May 23, acknowledging the technical issues faced by users. However, the extension offered a limited respite.
Students trying to avail of the extended window encountered a “site under maintenance” message on the website, preventing them from completing the process. With the deadline nearing and no clarity on when the portal would be fully operational, uncertainty persisted.
