Civic body finds 107 food samples unsafe

AHMEDABAD: The health department of the

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation

(AMC) raided several eating joints and flour mills on Friday and found snacks being made under unhygienic conditions. They also found the storage area for raw materials to be filthy at several places. According to

AMC

officials, raids were conducted at several places and 107 samples were found to be unhygienic. Another 97 samples are yet to be analysed.


The officials said that in one of the flour mills it cockroaches were found in the flour. The officer found that the curd from Chaswala Firm Patel Dairy and butter from Maruti Cafe Coffee shop in Navrangpura was found to be substandard.

The

masala of Kutchi King was found to be misbranded. Also, the officials found substandard samples of schezwan sauce and mixed fruit lollipop were not as per the standards prescribed.
