Four children sexually assaulted in a week

AHMEDABAD: Four cases of sexual offences against children in a matter of days— rape, molestation and sodomy — have shaken the the city administration and and police. While a three-year-old girl was allegedly raped on November 21, by her neighbour, 28-year-old Amit Solanki, in Vadaj, three more sexual offences against children have taken place in the last three days. 65-year-old penetrates four-year-old girl with fingers

A neighbour allegedly kidnapped a 4-year old girl and brutally violated her in Amraiwadi on Saturday. As per witnesses, the old man was inserting fingers in her private parts. The dreadful cries of the girl drew the attention of neighbours who informed the girl’s mother, who was out earning a living for her family.

“On rushing home, she stormed in the room next door, owned by Rajput. See saw Rajput brutally violating her little girl, who was screaming in immense pain. Rajput also tried to gag her, but local residents came to her rescue. Rajput has been arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act,” said Zone 5 DCP Himkar Singh.

Inspector of Amraiwadi police station, Odhar Desai, said, while the four-year-old girl’s mother went to work at a cloth factory, her mother would look after the child. “On Saturday, when the girl’s maternal grandmother was making tea, Rajput carried her off to his room and

her. Rajput has separated from his wife and lives with his sons. “We have arrested the accused,” Singh added.

Man digitally rapes five-year-old girl

It was playtime for a five-year-old girl who lives with her parents in Naroda. “While playing outside her house, 28-year-old Mukesh Thakor lured her into his room by promising to give her something to eat. Thakor allegedly penetrated the girl with his fingers. The little girl, in pain, told her parents what Thakor had done to her. The parents approached us. We have lodged a complaint and have arrested Thakor under sections of the POCSO Act.

Two 14-year-olds sodomize nine-year-old

A nine-year-old boy was spotted by two 14-year-old teenagers who were flying kites on the terrace of their house. “They lured the nine-year-old boy to the terrace on the pretext of allowing him to fly a kite. When the boy went to the terrace, one teenager, a class IX student, held him, while the other, a class X student, sodomized him. The victim’s elder brother soon arrived on the scene. The family then approached us. We have detained both teenagers and have produced them in juvenile court,” said a police official.
