Ahmedabad: Four top education department officials retire

AHMEDABAD: Four senior officials of the state’s education department retired on Saturday, including the director of the midday meal scheme and a joint director of the department.

Additional charge of these vacant positions have been given to other officials.

The additional charge of director of midday meal scheme has been given to IAS officer Shalini Duhan, along with her appointment as commissioner of schools, as IAS officer Satish Patel retired from the latter position.

Another official, H N Chavda, retired as joint director of secondary education. Additional charge of this position has been given to B C Solanki, the joint director of higher education.

The other two officials who retired on Saturday are Y H Patel, deputy director of education and B S Panchal, the district education officer of Godhra.
