Ground reality: Congress leaders to visit Lok Sabha constituencies

AHMEDABAD: Senior state Congress leaders will visit all 26 Lok Sabha constituencies and submit their reports about the various factors that will play a role in the outcome of the 2024 general election. This was decided at a meeting presided over by AICC Gujarat in-charge Mukul Wasnik.

Wasnik will lead a rally at Palanpur in Banaskantha district on Monday, a party statement said.

Shaktisinh Gohil will visit Chhota Udepur and Bharuch constituencies, Jagdish Thakor will visit Ahmedabad East, Ahmedabad West and Sabarkantha constituencies; Siddharth Patel will visit Kheda, Anand and Mehsana seats; Arjun Modhwadia will visit Banaskantha, Rajkot, Junagadh and Kutch seats; Bharatsinh Solanki will visit Panchmahal, Vadodara, Navsari and Surat seats; Amit Chavda will visit Bhavnagar, Amreli and Surendranagar seats; Paresh Dhanani will visit Gandhinagar, Patan, Porbandar and Jamnagar seats; and Sukhram Rathva will visit Dahod, Bardoli and Valsad seats, the statement said. tnn

Swamy to visit coast today

BJP leader Subramanian Swamy will be visiting Mangaluru and Kasaragod district. He will attend the Ganesha Utsav Aarti and visit the Shri Krishna Dhyana Kendra. He will also address a public meeting organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Telangana may lose some Lok Sabha seats to delimitation

Telangana is expected to lose three to four Lok Sabha seats if delimitation is based on population, according to a report by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Currently, both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have a total of 42 seats, but this could be reduced to 34 by 2026. The move has been criticized by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, who argue that it is unfair to southern states. However, the number of assembly seats in Telangana will increase if delimitation occurs.

PM scheduled to visit Vadodara, Bodeli on Sept 27

The city and district units of BJP in Vadodara and Chhota Udepur districts are preparing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit on September 27. He will address public meetings in Vadodara and Bodeli, focusing on women empowerment. The public meeting in Bodeli is expected to kick off work and dedicate projects, including those in Dahod as part of the Smart City initiative. Water supply in Vadodara has been affected due to flooding in the Mahi river, and protests have erupted against the Gujarat Public Universities (GPU) Bill.
