AHMEDABAD: An authorized retailer of cellphones in Vadodara filed a complaint against his sales manager and an accountant for allegedly cheating his firm of Rs 70 lakh by not crediting money obtained from different shopkeepers for nearly 18 months.

Ashutosh Pathak, 39, a resident of Vadodara, said in his FIR that he runs HP Telecom Private Limited that sells cellphones and accessories of Apple and Techno phones.

Pathak said that he found irregularities in his firm's accounts in July after which he started an internal inquiry. Pathak found that his area sales manager named Hardik Patel from New Ranip had allegedly siphoned off the firm's money after receiving the amount from shopkeepers in Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Patan and Banaskantha.

Patel and an accountant named Sameer Memon from Danilimda had allegedly siphoned off Rs 70 lakh which Patel diverted into his account.

Paldi police registered a complaint of breach of trust, cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy against Patel and Memon. TNN
