AHMEDABAD: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today inaugurated the

Ambardi Lions Safari Park

on a 350 hectare plot in

Dhari

taluka in Amreli district on the east of Lions Gir Sanctuary, as part of the State Government’s development mantra ‘sauna saath, sauno vikas’ for all round development and equitable growth of the state.

He unveiled the plaque at the Sinh Dwar entrance to the park and also opened animal upkeep centre.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that more tourists from India and abroad might now visit the safari park to see the pride of lions rather than go to Gir sanctuary. He said that Amreli district might emerge as a new tourism hub and might provide jobs to many. Many pro-people development works have been sanctioned for Amreli district and many more may be awarded.

Rupani said the state government had repeatedly asked for environmental clearance of the eco-tourism project in the reserved forest area of the Amreli district, but the previous

UPA Congress Government

Rupani also inaugurated the G.N. Damani Secondary and Higher Secondary School new building. He thanked Ramesh Damani's family for their gesture.

Forest & Environment Minister Ganpatbhai Vasava and Minister of State for Agriculture Vallabhbhai Vaghasia, Additional Chief Secretary Forest & Environment

Arvind Agrawal

and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) G.K. Sinha also spoke on the occasion.

Hirabhai Solanki

, MLAs Bavkubhai Ughad and Nalinbhai Kotadiya, ex-MLA Babbubhai Tanti, BJP district president Hirenbhai Hirpara, Collector S.L. Amrani, DDO Nirgude, DSP Jagdish Patel and a large number of officials and public.
