Gujarat govt to send proposals of road widening in forest areas to Union govt

Gandhinagar: The state cabinet on Wednesday decided to draw up a comprehensive plan of road widening projects where forest land will be required. Spokesperson Jitu Vaghani said the forest department will be provided land parcels of non-forest land in instances where forest land is diverted for road widening purposes.

Cabinet approves `Atalwadi’ scheme: The state cabinet on Wednesday approved the `Atalwadi’ scheme where infrastructure will be set up for social or public functions that can accommodate up to 500 persons. Villages with a population of 2,000 or more will be eligible for availing benefits of the scheme, an official statement said.

CM holds virtual meeting with Astrakhan governor: Chief minister Bhupendra Patel on Wednesday held a virtual meeting with Igor Babushkin, governor of Astrakhan province of Russia. An official statement said the two leaders discussed cooperation in the fields of commerce, education, shipbuilding and other sectors and further strengthening existing collaborations.
