Ahmedabad: Parking avengers’ game ends at police station

AHMEDABAD: A man, who came all the way from Kalol to Ranip area in the city to watch Hollywood blockbuster ‘Avengers: Endgame’, could not watch the entire movie as he had to reach police station in the interval following a brawl with another man over car parking.


Rahul Prajapati, 26, who runs a mobile phone repairing shop in Kalol, said that he had gone to watch the movie along with a relative at a multiplex in New Ranip area near new ST bus depot on Sunday evening.

“During the interval, I went to check my car in the parking. When I reached there, I saw that someone had parked his car near my car, and so I thought to park at some other place to leave smoothly after the movie,” said Prajapati in his FIR against the man, Kamlesh Ashwani, resident of Vadaj. “I saw a woman standing in the parking area and thought there must be some space to park my car. When I tried to park my car there, she suddenly began abusing me and later her husband also beat me,” Prajapati said.

On the other hand, Ashwani, who runs a shop of undergarments in Kalupur, said that Prajapati had hurt his wife’s foot while he was parking his car. When Ashwani rebuked Prajapati, he became Ashwani’s FIR stated.

Ashwani called up police control room and reported the incident. After this cops rushed to the spot and took both Ashwani and Prajapati to Vadaj police station where the two FIRs for assault were registered. Police also recovered CCTV footage of the area.
