Saurashtra crowned U-25 champions

Ahmedabad: Saurashtra on Saturday lifted the men’s U-25 state A 2022-23 trophy, defeating Madhya Pradesh by 89 runs in the final at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Saurashtra skipper Jay Gohil played a captain’s knock, scoring 81 off 83 balls. Thereafter, Hetvik Kotak hit six fours and a six in his 74-run knock while Samar Gajjar hit an unbeaten 62, laced with four fours and three sixes, to propel the hosts to 294/8 in 50 overs.For Madhya Pradesh, Rishabh Chouhan took 5 wickets in 10 overs giving away 34 runs. In reply, MP were bowled out for 205 in 43.1 overs. Chouhan scored 66 runs in 63 balls with five boundaries and two maximums while Rahul Chandrol made 58 runs in 74 balls. However, the rest of the batting unit failed to live up to the expectations and, Madhya Pradesh were eventually bowled out for 205. Adityasinh Jadeja shone with three wickets overs giving away 29 runs while Yuvrajsinh Dod iya took two wickets. TNN
