The staff have formed a coordination committee to chart an action plan. On Monday, the committee organized a dharna across the state and handed over memoranda to the district collector and the district education officer.

Pankaj Patel

, the spokesperson of the committee, said the other demands are the provision of transport allowance and filling of vacancies for positions of principals, administrative staff, and even peons.

Yogesh Mishra, the vice-president of the Ahmedabad Administration Employees Federation, said that the government has not been able to meet the demands. “We have been demanding full-time appointment of staff in grant-in-aid schools. But the government has not done that.”
