AHMEDABAD: The city crime branch sleuths on Thursday nabbed Rashid Momin, Santosh Chaudhary and Vijay Mafatlal for attempting to withdraw Rs 99,99,800 on a duplicate cheque, presented in
Limbdi
branch of
SBI. Earlier a case was registered with police station of Raipur, Chhattisgarh, against the three accused. The crime branch officials have handed over the accused to
Raipur
police.
The officials picked up the trio from near Vastral RTO. It came to light during interrogation of the accused that along with their accomplices they had forged a cheque of Rs 99,99,800 in the name of
Ashutosh Engineering Industries
located in Raipur and presented in the Limbdi branch of SBI on 1 June 2016.
However, before giving clearance to the cheque, the bank manager verified with the company which claimed that it had not issued any such cheque. tnn
