AHMEDABAD: A resident of Vastrapur filed a complaint with Gujarat University police, stating that two 'friends' of his attacked him with a knife near Panjrapol Crossroads late on Saturday night, over suspicion that he had stolen a mobile phone belonging to one of the them.
Bhuvan Dhanak (29), an autorickshaw driver, in his complaint staed that he and with his friends, Naresh Raval and Mohit Kumar, was on a night out on Saturday, when he took Raval's
smartphone to watch videos, as he does not have a smartphone. Later, the two friends sat in his autorickshaw and he started driving towards Panjrapol Crossroads.
When Dhanak was driving the autorickshaw, Raval asked him whether he had stolen his smartphone. To this, Dhanak replied him that he had returned it back to him and he should have checked with himself before making the accusation. This did not go well with Raval and Kumar, who first started abusing Dhanak, and Raval later took out a knife and slashed Dhanak's back and shoulder. As Dhanak stopped his autorickshaw and tried to counter the attack, he also suffered injuries to his fingers, the FIR states.
Later on Sunday, Gujarat University registered an FIR against Raval and Kumar for assault, causing grievous hurt, criminal intimidation and abetment.
