ALLAHABAD: On the occasion of 94th birth anniversary of Sri
Sathya Sai Baba
, members of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Allahabad organised number of programmes including both religious and that concerning human welfare, on Saturday.
The celebration programme commenced in the wee hours of Saturday with 21 times chanting of Aumkaram, Suprabhatam, chanting of Vedas and Nagar Sankirtan by the devotees of Bhagwan Baba. Thereafter a huge cake was cut and distributed to everyone present which was followed by birthday songs and bhajans in praise of Baba.
At 10 am Lakshanchana (taking name of Baba 1 Lakh times) was organised in Sai Kripa Mandir, Ashok Nagar by devotees. An arti was also performed on the occasion by chief guest Dr MLB Bhatt, vice chancellor, King Gorge Medical College, Lucknow.
In the afternoon, Maha Narayan Seva was organised wherein inmates of Leprosy Colony, the children of orphanages, children of missionary of charity and children of mentally retarded school were served with food, clothes, utensils, blankets, sweaters etc. Bhagwan Baba’s message of peace and tranquility was propagated by releasing while pigeons and balloons in the air, by the commissioner and senior devotees of Baba.
The evening programme started in specially erected pandal in Durga Puja park with Veda chanting programme by Bal Vikas children, which was followed by singing sarva dharma
bhajan
(all religion bhajan) by Sagar Sahu from
Visakhapatnam who mesmerized the devotees.
Later, 50 sewing machines were distributed to the women who were trained by the samiti. The programme finally concluded with Maha Mangal arti of Sri Sathya Sai Baba performed by the chief guest.
