97th birthday of Bhagwan Sri Satya Sai Baba celebrated with religious fervor in Prayagraj

PRAYAGRAJ: On the occasion of the 97th birth anniversary of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, members of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Prayagraj organised a number of programmes including both religious and that concerning human welfare, on Wednesday.


The celebration programme commenced in the wee hours of Wednesday with 21 times chanting of Aum Karam, Suprabhatam, chanting of Vedas and Nagar Sankirtan by the devotees of Bhagwan Baba. Thereafter a huge cake was cut and distributed to everyone present which was followed by birthday songs and bhajans sung in praise of Baba.

Thereafter Laksharchana (taking the name of Bhagwan Baba One lakh times) was organised in Sai Kripa Mandir, Ashok Nagar by devotees. All-religion bhajans were sung and aarti was also performed on the occasion by Neeraj Upadhyay.

In the afternoon, Maha Narayan Seva was organised wherein inmates of leprosy colony and the children of orphanages were served with food, clothes, utensils, blankets, sweaters etc. The event was inaugurated by Justice Ashutosh Srivastava of Allahabad High Court. Bhagwan Baba’s message of peace and tranquillity was propagated by releasing while pigeons and balloons in the air.

The evening programme started in a specially erected pandal in Durga pooja park of Ashok Nagar with a veda chanting programme by Bal Vikas children which was followed by singing sarva dharma bhajan (all religion bhajan) by Atul Dubey. A student of Sri Satya Sai Music College, Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, Dubey mesmerized the devotees.

The programme finally concluded with Maha Mangal arti of Sri Sathya Sai Baba performed by Judges of Allahabad High Court including Justice SS Shamsheri, Justice Vivek Singh, Justice Ashwani Mishra in the presence of Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal, Justice Piyush Agarwal, Justice Vikram Chauhan.

The celebrations were conducted by the additional chief standing council, Allahabad High Court, Akhileshwar Singh.

Likewise, celebrations of the 97th birthday of Sri Satya Sai Baba was also organised by Sri Sathya Sai centre, Jhunsi. The devotees organised all-religion bhajan and other programmes which started from the wee hours and extended until evening.
