Maha Kumbh 2025: Sneak peek into mela area’s stunning makeover

Community kitchen

A permanent kitchen will feed 10,000 people daily, ensuring food availability for pilgrims and visitors.

Luxury hotels

2 five-star hotels will be constructed within two years to improve accommodation facilities for tourists.

130 horses deployed

Horses from the American Balm Blood, England's Thro breed, and Indian 'desi' breed will be brought to Prayagraj for crowd control during the Kumbh Mela. A total of 130 horses will be deployed to assist mounted police in managing crowds and ensuring safety.

Ropeway project

A ropeway will be completed within a year, offering easier and faster access for pilgrims to reach key locations during the Maha Kumbh.

Enhanced security

A dedicated Sangam police station has been set up with CCTV cameras, Jal police deployment, and additional security personnel to ensure safety for visitors.

Sanitation facilities

To improve hygiene, 400 changing rooms and 40 mobile toilets will be installed, providing convenience for devotees at the ghat.

Plastic-free zone

Special stalls selling eco-friendly dona and kulhad will be opened, promoting sustainable practices and reducing plastic usage at the Sangam.

Lighting and roads

Around 2,000 LED lights will be installed for night lighting, and checkered plate roads will be built to improve access and ensure smooth traffic flow.

Facilities for priests and shopkeepers

Around 400 priests will be provided wooden beds, while shopkeepers selling puja materials will be given upgraded carts.
