New president for Allahabad district court bar association

ALLAHABAD: Hari Sagar Mishra and Rakesh Dubey were elected president and secretary of the

Allahabad District Court Bar Association

, respectively, on Saturday.


Hari Sagar Mishra defeated Radha Raman Mishra to become president of the association while Rakesh Dubey defeated Pramod Singh Neeraj to become the new secretary.

Similarly, Devendra Mishra was elected joint secretary while Indresh Mishra was elected the new treasurer of the district bar association.

The counting for the remaining 13 posts was on and the results are likely to be announced on Sunday.

Earlier on July 25, around 85 per cent lawyers had exercised their franchise.

As many as 3,571 lawyers had turned up to cast their votes at the counting centre set up in the compound of district court. There are as many as 4,959 voters.

There were 107 candidates in the fray for 17 posts, including the coveted posts of president and secretary. The counting had commenced on July 26 and the result for the post of president and secretary was announced on Saturday.
