ALLAHABAD: The Allahabad high court has directed to release on bail Ringing Bells managing director and director Mohit Goel and Sumit Kumar respectively who allegedly lured public with attractive advertisements both in the electric/print media towards launch of mobile "Freedom 251" for Rs 251 and "Smart 101" (4G) for Rs 2999.

Ghaziabad district.
While directing them to be released on bail, Justice Pankaj Naqvi put some condition on them, saying that they would file an undertaking to the effect that they shall not seek any adjournment on the dates fixed for evidence when the witnesses are present in court.
The complainant had entered into a transaction with the applicants and paid around Rs 30 lakh to them against the purchase of mobiles, in lieu of goods worth Rs 13 lakh were supplied, but as some pieces were found to be defective a request was made to rectify the same and also to deliver the remaining goods. Subsequently, he learnt that mobiles were not worth the price. On repeated insistence, goods/cash worth Rs 14 lakh were returned to the informant, leaving an outstanding of Rs16 lakh which was not paid despite repeated demands.
The state counsel had opposed the prayer for bail on the strength of short counter affidavit stating that there were similar offences registered against the applicants in various other districts.
