PRAYAGRAJ: Ahutosh Brahmachari, who lodged a case of sexual harassment against Swami Avimukteshwaranand at Jhunsi police station last month, was allegedly attacked and assaulted by an unknown person in Reewa Express near Sirathu railway station early Sunday.
Following the incident, senior GRP (Government railway police) authorities have launched a detailed probe into the case and connecting the links regarding the incident.
Ashutosh Brahmachari was travelling in First AC coach to Prayagraj from Ghaziabad in connection with the hearing of a case at Allahabad High Court by Reewa Express.
He was attacked with a sharp edge weapon and managed to save his life after locking himself in the train toilet. He sustained injuries with nose and the forearm region.
Maharaj claimed that the attacker wanted to cut off his nose and might be chasing him from Ghaziabad railway station.
SP (GRP) Prasant Verma told TOI " Senior cops are probing the incident thoroughly and action would be initiated accordingly".Get the latest lifestyle updates on Times of India, along with
