BJP leader alleges disparities in Tirumala trust's privileges and fund diversion

TIRUPATI: Former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) trust board member and BJP leader, G Bhanu Prakash Reddy, has raised concerns about disparities in granting equal privileges to Local Advisory Committee (LAC) presidents in different states.

Reddy claims that devotees from Karnataka and Odisha have been deprived of special darshans at the Tirumala temple due to the TTD's failure to allocate darshan quotas to LAC presidents in Bengaluru and Bhubaneswar.

Reddy alleges that despite being appointed three months ago and regularly attending TTD board meetings, the LAC presidents for Bengaluru and Bhubaneswar have not been given access to the darshan quota provided to other LAC presidents and TTD board members.

He urges the Tirupati trust to treat all board members equally.

Additionally, Reddy criticizes the Tirupati trust for approving proposals by the Tirupati municipal corporation to spend approximately Rs 70-100 crore on the sanitation needs of Tirupati city. He sees this as a diversion of TTD funds and calls for special funds from the state government instead. Reddy warns that he will escalate the issue to the Governor and may resort to legal action if the TTD administration continues to divert temple funds without proper justification.
