The minister inaugurated Air Bus services from New Delhi to Rajahmundry on Thursday. IndiGo Airlines has commenced operations on this route, with the Air Bus arriving at Rajahmundry Airport at 9 am. The airport authorities welcomed the flight with a ceremonial water cannon salute.

Speaking at the event, Rammohan Naidu emphasised ongoing efforts to construct new airports, upgrade infrastructure at existing ones, and improve connectivity within Andhra Pradesh. He noted that Air Bus services from Rajahmundry to Mumbai, the commercial capital of India, began on December 1. He added that this service would facilitate international travel to destinations like the United States for people in the region.

The minister pointed out existing air connectivity to cities like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai, and announced that a new terminal would soon be constructed at Rajahmundry Airport. He also informed that steps are underway to introduce services from Rajahmundry to Tirupati, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Varanasi, and Shirdi.

Rammohan Naidu mentioned that new Air Bus services have already started from Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Rajahmundry, Kadapa, and Vijayawada. The introduction of the Air Bus, with a capacity of 180 passengers, is expected to increase revenue and save time for travelers.
