Polling for undivided east-west Godavari teachers’ MLC concludes; 92.62% voter turnout recorded

KAKINADA: The polling for the Teachers’ MLC constituency in the undivided East-West Godavari districts was conducted peacefully, registering a voter turnout of 92.62% across 116 polling stations in the newly formed six districts. Five independent candidates contested the election, and the counting of votes is scheduled for December 9.

In a press release, Returning Officer Shanmohan Sagili confirmed that the election process was completed without any untoward incidents. The elections were monitored closely from a control room established at the Kakinada Collectorate to ensure fairness. Ballot boxes have been securely stored in a strong room located at Dr BR Ambedkar Central Library within the premises of JNTU, Kakinada.

Providing detailed polling statistics, Sagili reported the following voter turnout across the districts:

• Kakinada District: 3,118 out of 3,148 eligible teachers cast their votes at 22 polling booths.
• East Godavari District: 2,753 out of 2,990 voters cast their votes at 20 polling stations.
• Dr. B.R. Ambedkar District: 3,138 out of 3,296 voters participated at 22 polling booths.
• Alluri Sitharama Raju District: 565 out of 637 voters turned out at 12 polling centers.
• West Godavari District: 3,484 out of 3,729 voters cast their votes at 20 polling centers.
• Eluru District: 2,444 out of 2,667 voters participated in the polls.
