TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will release a special quota of VIP break darshan tickets linked to Srivani trust donations exclusively for the Vaikunta Dwara darshan at the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara at the Tirumala temple from January 2 to January 11.
The special quota capped at 2,000 VIP darshan tickets a day will be released for online booking at 9 am on Thursday. The temple body has set aside a total quota of 20000 tickets for ten days under the Srivani scheme alone.
TTD sources said that every devotee who extends a donation of Rs 10,000 will have to pay Rs 300 extra for the darshan ticket.
In view of a heavy influx of pilgrims anticipated to take part in the Vaikunta Ekadasi festivities, TTD announced that even the Srivani donors will be facilitated only Maha Laghu darshan from the "Jaya-Vijaya" point inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Tirumala temple from January 2-11.
The temple trust also clarified that all current booking counters linked to Srivani trust will remain closed during the Vaikunta Ekadasi period for ten days as the special quota is released in advance for online booking.
Immense significance is attached with the Vaikunta Dwara darshan at the Tirumala temple which is opened for ten days during the auspicious Vaikunta Ekadasi festival eve.
