The groups, which played a key role in the agitation against the three farm laws, have been debating on whether to test political waters in the 2022 assembly elections in Punjab, given the state’s fluid political situation.

Farm leader and BKU Ekta Dakaunda president

Buta Singh Burjgill

said though some deliberations were held on political terms, talks remained inconclusive. “We decided what issues have to be taken in the meeting with chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Thursday and duties were assigned who will raise which issue,” he said. Farm leaders

Sukhdarshan Singh Natt

and Jangvir Singh said various issues were raised in the meeting, but talks could not reach a common ground. “We may sit again after meeting the CM on Thursday,” they said.
