Punjab: 'Provide Rs 1 lakh aid to kin of girl pushed from stadium roof'

BATHINDA: National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) chairman Vijay Sampla has directed the Moga district administration to provide financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to the family of a SC girl who was pushed from the upper storey of a sports stadium.

He also directed the Moga police chief to conduct impartial inquiry into the matter. Sampla had gone to Moga on Thursday on the complaint of the girl's family that matter is not been investigated properly.

The girl was allegedly pushed from the stadium by some boys wherein she had sustained serious injuries. She had complained that a boy had called her to the stadium, took her up where his two friends were waiting and tried to sexually exploit her.

When she resisted, he along with some friends pushed her down. During his visit, Sampla asked DC Kulwant Singh to take the matter in the knowledge of the state government.
