Act as a unit rather than forming own groups: Samant to party functionaries
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: State industry minister and Shiv Sena leader Uday Samant on Thursday pulled up the party functionaries from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in the wake of setbacks in different local elections held recently.
“Everyone should take care that our family is not divided due to internal differences. Party leaders must act as one unit rather than forming their own groups,” he said, while addressing the party convention.
The local unit of Sena has been facing infighting between district guardian minister Sanjay Shirsat and deputy mayor Rajendra Janjal with both openly targeting each other in the recent past.
Referring to the poor show by the party in the recent municipal elections and zilla parishad polls in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Samant called for introspection and hard work to restore the past glory.
“Until the closed-door discussions in Sambhajinagar by leaders stop, nothing will happen. Let’s bring an end to the practice of such closed-door discussions now,” he said in the context of the practice of holding secret meetings by some of the senior leaders.
He added, “From what we have heard, the office-bearers of Sambhajinagar are in a state of confusion. Efforts should be made to clear that confusion.”
The minister also expressed his displeasure over the organizational building work of the party in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
“There is a need for self-reflection and self-examination regarding the fact that the work of party building has not been done here. 100% of such works have been done in my constituency and therefore, I have the right to say so,” he said.
Addressing the reporters later, Samant said Mahayuti partners will take a call on seat-sharing for upcoming MLCs polls within the next two days.
