A non-profit organisation, IIW is recognised as the premier institute related to welding in the country with over 4,500 individual and corporate members.

Institute director Ulhas Shiurkar on Wednesday said the student chapter will help in spreading career opportunities in the field of welding technology among youths from Marathwada.

“Similar to the IT and few other streams, welding technology offers lucrative job opportunities. The industries in Aurangabad, other parts of the country and the world look for a skilled workforce in this field,” he said.

Shiurkar said the student chapter will involve a range of activities involving active participation from the resource people associated with the IIW.

Speaking at the inaugural event of the student chapter, IIW president Deepak Acharya made a detailed presentation on different career opportunities in welding technology.
