Sambhajinagaragent dupes trader of 13L

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The CIDCO police on Sunday evening booked a local commission agent for cheating an apple trader from Himachal Pradesh of over Rs13 lakh. The cheating took place between Aug 6 to Sept 7.Inspector Kundankumar Waghmare said the complainant, Bipin Rajesh Chavan, a resident of Bijmal of Shimla district, sold apples across various states. He alleged that the accused ran a Shan Fruit Agency at Jadhavwadi market in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The suspect reportedly assured Chavan that he would get him higher returns for his stock of apples.Subsequently, Chavan supplied apples worth Rs 11.64 lakh. However, the accused allegedly sold the stock without the trader's consent and deposited only Rs2.99 lakh in his account. The remaining Rs 8.64 lakh was not paid, police said.
