AURANGABAD: In an effort to popularize the benefits of scientific knowledge and practical appropriation National Science Day was celebrated at Munawar Peerbhoy Sarosh English Primary School.

The day was observed recently to mark the novel discovery of Raman Effect by the great Indian Physicist Sir C V Raman. He was the first to bring the Nobel Award for the country in 1930. `Hence the National Science Day is a great day for Indian science and scientific community,’ said the school principal.

The programmes started with a presentation by the students of class - IV and V on the contribution towards science by eminent scientist followed by the students explaining various experiments with the help of working models and charts prepared by them on various topics of science.

K A Nayeem, former head of Indian Agricultural Research Institute said that the efforts taken by the school for developing a scientific temperament in the student community at the primary level itself is highly appreciable. He encouraged the students to make Sir CV Raman and former President APJ Abul Kalam as role models, and advised them to participate in Children Science Congress which is supported by National Council for Science and Technology Communication, Government of India.
