AURANGABAD: BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Saturday said some within the party were "tarnishing the image of BJP and Pankaja Munde".
His statement came against the backdrop of frequent reports about Munde - the national secretary of BJP - being upset with party leadership over allegedly being side-lined. Her absence during deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis' recent visits also fuelled such talk.
"Some people are intentionally trying to spread rumours that Pankaja Munde is upset with party and its leadership. She is with us. She has brought more energy to the campaign," said Bawankule.
Legislative council's leader of opposition Ambadas Danve said, "BJP is a self-proclaimed disciplined party. I dare the state president to name such people in his party who are currently tarnishing the image of Pankajatai by spreading rumours about her."
