Struggle integral part of an artist’s life, Mangesh Desai tells students at Bamu

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Actor and director Mangesh Desai on Wednesday said struggle always remains an integral part of the life of artists. Desai said this to the students during the inauguration of the central youth festival of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu)."We should make struggle a choice and only then transformation happens in our lives. The struggle can be at different levels, right from local to higher levels," he said.Speaking on the occasion, actor Dhananjay Sardeshpande appealed to the youth to remain focused on their chosen path. "You have to be passionate, show tenacity, and gain more and more knowledge in your chosen field. Following these three principles helps in shaping a career," he said.The central youth festival of Bamu started amid an electric atmosphere on Wednesday with police commissioner Pravin Pawar attending the event as the chief guest. A total of six stages have been set on the sprawling university campus at different locations with over 2,000 students set to demonstrate their talent in over 35 art forms. The mega event began with a tribute to tabla maestro Zakir Hussain and director Shyam Benegal, who passed away recently.Clad in attractive clothes, students carried out different theme-based processions from the main university gate before the inauguration of the festival. The four-day event will conclude on Dec 28 with prize distribution and other events. Meanwhile, a section of the audience of the youth festival has demanded vehicle arrangements on the campus for attending different events.
