BAREILLY: The education department will lodge a police complaint against nine teachers for submitting fake documents during their appointment as LT grade teachers in June last year. In the past one year, the department has lodged FIRs against 25 teachers for submitting fake marksheets to secure the job.
Joint director, education, Shiv Prakash Dwivedi said, “During the verification process, the documents submitted by nine teachers were found to be fake. We will lodge a complaint with the police for registering an FIR against them.”
He added, “The appointment was made on basis of merit. These nine teachers have been teaching at government secondary schools in Bareilly division for the past one year. However, their documents were verified now. We are taking criminal action against them for submitting fake documents to get this job. They will also lose their jobs. As their appointment was made on condition that their salary is subject to verification, these fake teachers have not received any salary till now.”
The education department had invited applications for for teaching posts — 147 for males and 118 for females — in government secondary schools in Bareilly division comprising Bareilly, Badaun, Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur districts. Of the total 265 vacant posts, 240 appointments were made. However, only 101 teachers have joined so far while the remaining were to join only after verification of documents.
The teachers who submitted fake documents have been identified as Vishnu Kumar Singh, Ashok Kumar, Shailendra Kumar Yadav, Sanjeev Kumar, Rekha Rani, Sudha Arun, Sheetal Kumar Bhardwaj, Sanjeev Kumar Upadhaya and Sumit Kumar Upadhaya.
According to the officials at the education department, Vishnu, Ashok, Shailendra and Sudha submitted BA and BEd marksheets from Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University but they had never studied there. Similarly, BA marksheet of Rekha Rani and BEd marksheet of Sanjeev Kumar were found to be fake during verification process. The officials also found that was the marks obtained for Class X and XII obtained by Sanjeev Kumar Upadhaya and Sheetal Kumar Bhardwaj, under the UP Board in Meerut, were fudged. The roll number given by Sunil Kumar Upadhaya in his Class X and XII marksheets belonged to some other students.
The officials had not given police complaint till the filing of this report.
