Faiza, from the city of Hamedan, recently arrived in India with her father on a 20-day visa and is residing with Diwakar at his home as they navigate the process of obtaining the necessary permissions to formalise their wedding. The couple wants to tie the knot as soon as the legal requirements are met.

The genesis of their cross-border relationship goes back three years when the two connected on a social media photo-sharing site. Diwakar said, “I used to post travel videos on another social media platform, often chatted with Faiza online. Over time, we fell in love.”

Last July, Diwakar travelled to Iran to meet Faiza. “During our time together, I learned Persian, while she picked up Hindi so that there were no communication barriers,” he further said.
