Rampur court directs SP to provide adequate security to Khasbagh palace
Rampur: District and sessions Judge Alka Srivastava on Wednesday directed the Rampur superintendent of police to provide adequate security to Khasbagh palace.
Directing SP Santosh Kumar Mishra to provide adequate police force for the security of the palace, said advocate Saurabh Saxena, the court ordered that all expenses incurred by the police force deployed at the palace would be borne by the family members of the erstwhile Rampur Nawab, who are parties in the case.
Eight months after the Supreme Court ordered distribution of Nawab’s property among his heirs, local administration and court-appointed commissioners are busy evaluating the assets.
Saxena said, “Following the SC’s directions, the evaluation of moveable and immovable properties is going on. In the presence of the family members and administrative officials, the armoury was opened for the counting of weapons. However, the strong room of the palace will be opened on February 26. Thus, the court directed the deployment of police force for the security of the property at Khasbagh.”
Khasbagh is under the possession of Muhammad Ali Khan, alias, Murad Mian, and his elder sister Naght Abedi, both children of the late Nawab Murtuza Ali Khan.
