BAREILLY: The court of additional district and sessions judge (ADJ) Tabrez Ahmed awarded life imprisonment to three people for mercilessly hacking a 55-year-old man to death, who quarreled over watching a marriage procession in Bhamora area of UP's Bareilly on Tuesday.

Divulging details about the case Additional District government Counsel (ADGC) Sachin Jaiswal told TOI, "The incident was reported on May 24, 2010, when accused Narendra Kisaan (43), Mahaveer Yadav (36) and Nanku Yadav (39), who were all inebriated, created ruckus at a marriage procession they were confronted by Rajnesh Singh and his father Puttu Singh and forced to leave the place. Narendra had then threatened to take revenge. A few hours later, while Puttu Singh was sleeping on a charpoy outside his house, all three accused attacked and hacked him to death. The autopsy confirmed multiple injuries on the victim's face caused by sharp objects. All three accused were booked for murder and sent to jail by police."

"A chargesheet was filed in the court in 2011 and we ensured all the evidence and the witnesses were produced in the court. Judge Tabrez Ahmed has pronounced all three accused guilty and awarded them life imprisonment with Rs 20,000 fine," Jaiswal added.
