Various pro-Kannada organisations led by activists

Vatal Nagaraj

,

Praveen Shetty

and Sa Ra Govindu participated in the protest demanding the reinstatement of

Naveen M N

, the employee.

An ITC Infotech India spokesperson, however, said Naveen was terminated due to his subdued performance.

Naveen told TOI, “I was working in the company from 2010 and celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava every year. In 2018, the management did not allow us to celebrate Rajyotsava and the matter went upto the local police station. Finally, they permitted us to celebrate the festival. After two months, they terminated me without providing any logical reason. I have won many awards for my performance in these years and have received more than seven awards. I took up the matter to labour department but the company did not pay any heed.”

“I really don't understand that why celebrating Kannada Rajyotsava made them angry,” he added.

The ITC Infotech India spokesperson said, "Naveen M N’s allegations about the reasons for his termination are false. ITC Infotech does not comment on the reasons for termination of services of its employees. Only in order to clear the wrong perception sought to be created by Naveen among the public, the following clarification is issued.”

“He joined ITC Infotech in October, 2010 and his separation in January 24, 2019 was necessitated due to subdued performance, lack of cooperation in exploring alternative options, non-acceptance of roles within the Company etc,” it added.
