BENGALURU: After rowdy and history-sheeter Sunil Kumar alias 'Silent Sunil' sharing the stage with some BJP functionaries, including MPs, sparked a controversy, the visit of Nagaraj alias 'Wilson Garden Naga' to BJP minister Somanna's residence on Wednesday night triggered another row.
Naga was seen with some people allegedly talking to Somanna. He has been accused in multiple criminal cases, including murder, gangwar, extortion, and dacoity. He was jailed many times and several cases are pending against him. Like Sunil, Naga too was declared absconding, according to a press release issued by the Bengaluru Crime Branch on November 23.
Reacting to the rowdy's visit to his house, the minister said: "I don't know any Naga, Thimma or Bomma. I have been in public life for more than 50 years. Thousands of people visit my house. I haven't led a life that requires me to know such people..."
No opportunity for rowdies: CMReacting to the two instances of rowdies and history-sheeters trying to meet and caught on camera with BJP functionaries, chief minister Basavaraj Bommai said: "We will not entertain any rowdies in our party. No opportunity will be given to them. There is no change in our stand, and I don't want to comment further."
Earlier, there were reports that rowdy-sheeter, Mallikarjuna alias 'Fighter Ravi', who allegedly has links with illegal cricket betting racketeers, had joined the BJP.
Bettanagere Shankara, another notorious gangster, is reportedly in talks with some BJP functionaries to contest from Nelamangala assembly segment.
