Blood donor stopped, vehicle seized

Police

on Monday stopped a

donor

heading to a

blood

collecting drive and

seized

his motorcycle despite repeated requests. Rajesh (Name changed), a resident of

Rajajinagar

and private company employee, was heading to Gandhinagar to donate blood when police flagged him down near Ramamandir in Rajajinagar around 11 am.

“I told police about my purpose. But they seized my motorbike. Another donor took me to the blood bank in his motorbike. After donating the blood, I returned and collected the

bike

by evening,” he said.

Asked why they had stopped the blood donor, Rajajinagar police said “Whoever we catch come up with one or the other reason. If we let them, our seniors will shout at us. If we catch them, media and public blame us. Please understand our position.”
