BENGALURU: “What’s in a name? A lot, apparently,” read a post by actress-turned-politician Divya Spandana on X (formerly Twitter). This came after news of her death flooded the social media platform.
The rumors were apparently triggered by the death of a namesake, a Tamil actress.
Busting rumours, a journalist who is currently in Geneva also tweeted, “I spoke to Ramya and she is absolutely fine. We are currently in Geneva and will soon be heading to Prague in the Czech Republic before heading to Bengaluru.”
Ramya made her sandalwood debut with ‘Abhi’ opposite late actor Puneeth Rajkumar 20 years ago. ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’ and ‘Polladhavan’ are some of the landmark movies in her career. Ramya quit sandalwood in 2012 to join politics and became head of Congress's social media cell.
In 2022, the former MP announced her plans to launch her own film production house.
