BENGALURU: A 25-year-old Bengaluru resident, Mohammed Ishaq, was among those who lost their lives in the tragedy early Sunday morning.
Ishaq, a private firm employee and data analyst at a bank, lived in Ashwath Nagar on Thanisandra Main Road. He was the son of businessman Mohammed Hussain and is survived by his parents and a younger sister.
According to relatives, Ishaq had spoken to his father just hours before the tragedy, sharing how he and his friends were enjoying a bachelor-party trip in Goa. He had travelled with five friends, one of whom was getting married.
An acquaintance of the family said Ishaq and his friends initially managed to exit the club after noticing the fire, but Ishaq allegedly went back inside to retrieve his mobile phone. He may have died due to the stampede or cardiac arrest; his body showed only minor burns. Police informed the family that Ishaq died in the stampede while exiting the club.
Ishaq’s body arrived in Bengaluru on Monday morning via a flight from Goa International Airport in Dabolim. Ishaq’s father received initial news of the incident early Sunday and later confirmation of his son’s death.
