1/7

Last-Mile Access Made More Convenient

New bus shelters were constructed along the Yellow Line in order to provide Metro riders with better access to the surrounding area after exiting a metro stop. By constructing new shelters at key stops, commuters will now have an easier time finding local transportation options (on foot or by other means) as soon as they leave the Metro station.

2/7

Bus Shelters Located Near Major Stops

New bus stops will now be located at RV Road, Central Silk Board, Hongasandra, Singasandra, Beratena Agrahara and Biocon Hebbagodi Metro stations. The placement of these locations is based on the number of people who ride the Metro and the existing need for feeder bus services. (AI image)

3/7

Easier Transfers From Bus To Metro

The new bus stops have been placed closer to the Metro stations, making it easier to transfer from one mode of transportation to another. This should reduce the time it takes to transfer and provide more consistency for daily commuters that travel by both modes for either work and/or school.

4/7

Shorter Distances To Walk

Previously, when a Metro rider exited a station, they would have had to walk a substantial distance before reaching the nearest bus stop. The new bus stops have been placed much nearer to the entry and exit points of the station, thereby providing Metro riders with greater convenience.(AI image)

5/7

Support for Yellow Line Commuters

The Yellow Line connects several large employment and industrial areas, including Bommasandra. The new bus stops located at or near the Metro stations will help Yellow Line Users complete their trips without having to rely on private transportation for part of their journey.

6/7

Improved Crowd Management

At peaking periods, Metro station will see a significant increase in ridership and demand for service based on ridership. By providing buses to nearby bus stops, large crowds can be spread out and help reduce congestion at Metro stations (AI image)

7/7

All Passengers Can Access The Bus Stops

The addition of the new bus stop locations is very beneficial to seniors, women and those that carry baggage. The additional walking distance will allow those that are transferring from Metro to buses less strain than if the bus stop was located further away from the Metro Station. (AI image)
