Bengaluru: Chants of ‘Don’t worry, be happy,’ along with other positive affirmations, reverberated across

Sobha City Apartment

on Thanisandra Main Road on February 20.
This was part of the ‘

Happiness Parade

’ that had more than 150 children walking across the complex, waving placards with happiness slogans and balloons to spread cheer and unify the community after two years of Covid-19 pandemic. It was the inaugural event of a bigger initiative organised by

Sobha City Apex Committee

– the residents’ welfare association (RWA) of the apartment complex that houses 1,958 flats. This was the first programme that the committee organised since the pandemic outbreak.
C Subramanyam, president of the committee, said with zero Covid-19 cases in the community and a conducive environment, they decided to do something to boost the morale of the residents. “We have all been confined to the four walls of our home for almost two years now and it has hit us all in different ways. We decided to kickstart a wellness initiative for the mental, social and physical well-being of our residents,” he said
“From writing how a family means happiness to smaller joys like food and gaming, children expressed themselves beautifully. The run-up to Happiness Parade was also enriching as children were involved in an activity for hours away from screens,” said Rajeev Nair, committee member and lead on

Wellness Initiative and Committee
