BENGALURU: Kashinath S Shivanagowdru, the father of Renukaswamy, who was allegedly tortured to death by Kannada actor Darshan and his aides, wants strict punishment for all the accused.
Kashinath looked distressd after seeing the photographs showing the last moments of Renukaswamy and wondered about the extent of violence his son had endured.
He struggled to find words of consolation for his daughter-in-law, Renukaswamy's wife, who is pregnant.
Kashinath demanded that the accused face punishment equal to the torture they inflicted upon his son.
"When we see that photo, we are confused about what to say. How much violence did he endured? I don't know how to console Renukaswamy's wife, my daughter-in-law. She has health issues. Renukaswamy begged everyone to leave him alone and that his wife was pregnant. Our demand is that those accused should be punished in the same manner they tortured my son," news agency ANI quoted Kashinath as saying.
Rathnaprabha, Renukaswamy's mother, said she lacked the strength to look at the photograph.
She sought justice, insisting that all the perpetrators receive severe punishment to prevent any other son from enduring what her son had experienced.
Renukaswamy, an ardent admirer of Sandalwood actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, was allegedly murdered after posting offensive and derogatory comments on social media about actress Pavithra Gowda, believed to be Darshan's girlfriend.
Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and 17 others were arrested in connection with Renukaswamy's murder. His body was discovered in a stormwater drain located in Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru.
